Central Ohio Real Estate Market Trends And Statistics: December 2007

Best Year on Record for Central Ohio Buyers

"Despite what you might have heard, the housing market in Central Ohio was going strong in 2007." this according to Greg Hrabcak, president of the Columbus Board of Realtors®.

2007 was truly a memorable year for home buyers thanks to really low interest rates, competitive prices, and the best selection this market has ever seen. For much of the year there were 10 homes on the market for every buyer. This forced many sellers to reduce their prices in order to compete.

Although sales volume in this market was down 15% The Raines Group sales were up 27% as many home buyers took full advantage of conditions. With the additional drop in mortgage rates, more home buyers will realize that this is a great time to buy.
