New Albany Ohio Real Estate: Area April 2008 Real Estate Statistics Released!

Courtesy of the Columbus Board of RealtorsReal Estate Market Statistics for the Greater Columbus Metro Area  in April have been released! There is excellent news that the fall in the number of listings is a sign that the market is recovering. With an 8.5% drop of new listings in the area in April compared to 2007 as well as a 29% drop in listings in March over last year could well indicate that the market is recovering.

For the first "quarter" from January to April 2008 the total number of new listings was 15,648 a drop of 12% over last year. Using simple supply and demand economics the Columbus area board of Realtors indicates that this could indicate a shift from a buyers market more towards a sellers. It is certain that Buyers have had a great opportunity recently to snap up Real Estate at great prices with  more and more mortgage products coming available with falling rates.

The Board even notes that agents are so busy right now as there are so many good deals out there! Particularly with all the area has to offer people relocating from outside Central Ohio.

Of course the key in interpreting all real estate statistics is to remember that all real estate is local and that you should contact your local Realtor to ensure that you get the most up to date information on the local market and conditions in the neighborhoods you are looking in.
