The business park is due to celebrate its 10th birthday this month and it already planning expansion. The current expansion figure is looking like an extra 128 acres as New Albany rezones a slice of land. The plan is to use the extra land for a Research and IT business park. The developer New Albany Co. made the application for the rezone and it is expected that the council will vote on it on the 15th of this month.
Thepotential growth at the New Albany Business Park stems partly from the $1.3 million investment in a fibre optic network to benefit the business park and the local 6,700 residents. if the planned expansion goes through the park will occupy some 1320 acres in total.
Already the park has some of the area’s major employers and provides cash to the city through income tax revenue.
