Village of New Albany Ohio: Safety Town Program

Summer’s here! So what do you do with the kids?

Well, each summer the Village of New Albany Council holds its annual Safety Town Program where children entering Kindergarten or first grade can learn about safety in their town, with topics from stranger awareness through to bicycle or water safety.

This beginners "crash course" on some of lifes risks is a great opportunity for the kids to learn about the world they live in and get a chance to learn life skills in the process.

The program began in 2004 and in 2006 the council awarded it the title of "community program of the year" – in fact each year the program is so successful that there are two sessions held! What a great community program!

The first dates are June 16th through 26th and the second July 7th through the 17th. The classes are a choice of morning or afternoon and are held at New Albany-Plain Local K-1 school building at 5101 Swickard Woods Boulevard. Registration is $50.00 per student and can be paid in cash or by check. Click here for more information on the program and registration information (including the form!) which can even be collected in person at the Police Department.
