Here in New Albany our community spirit shows through, no matter what the challenge or the weather! The New Albany Walking Classic, a 10k walk with 3,500 participants last Sunday was a huge success.

Beginning at Market Square at a rather early 8.15 am on a Sunday morning, the picturesque route took walkers/runners through beautiful scenery lined with volunteers and crowds cheering along participants. Additionally there was live music along the way from The two garage bands, marching band and New Albany Symphony Orchestra which was an excellent idea.

Although 10k may sound like a long way, it passes by in a flash! The Walking Classic is a chance to get out and see New Albany, to get fit and get outdoors – well, at least until the weather changes! Something for all, whether from out of town or residents of New Albany to participate in next year!
