Central Ohio Communities: City of Hilliard Ohio Master Plan Released
The Master Plan for the Central Ohio Community of Hilliard has been released by Stantec Consulting who have presented the council with a $1.25 million plan for the city which the main components are studies of land-use, public spaces, transportation and utilities.
For Land Use, four “key areas” had already been identified: the Big Darby watershed area, the Hayden Run corridor, the city’s old railroad corridor and the area surrounding the county fairgrounds.
The plan is to prepare for Hilliard’s future and be ready for when the national economy recovers so that the area can be best positioned to grow in a sustainable way, maintaining development that promotes healthy environments, lifestyles and activities.
Hilliard is definitely a community on the grow, with it planning on annexing 500 acres of land in Derby Plain, the largest annexation for years. The city has also been promoting itself as a real center for business due to its proximity to Columbus and its international airport.
