It seems like every community is planning its future! With Hilliard just releasing details of its master plan and now Gahanna is doing the same!

Bird Houk Collaborative, planning consultants, were instructed to provide a review of Olde Gahanna and create a plan entitled: “Olde Gahanna Downtown Vision.” The plan has been previewed and will be under final review in January 2009.

The consultants looked at other downtowns in other communities in the Central Ohio Region and reviewed what was attractive about them for businesses to relocate there. The aim is to promote the city as a whole and not a specific reason. All parties are looking for ways of incorporating mixed use land development and move away from strip malls.

The plan included better parking provisions as well as more public art to aid the aesthetic quality of the city. All in all producing a pedestrian friendly environment.

Gahanna is a great community for families and its diverse population of 32,000 is well serviced by local amenities and is great for business due to its proximity to Columbus.
