New Albany has already started to plan its 2009 spending. The Village council has planned to work on local roads and leisure trails – the leisure trails in particular are a great addition to the amenities in the village which help add to the high quality of life that local residents enjoy.
Under the roads remit, the intersection of Central College and U.S. Route 62 is high on the list of priorities. The Ohio Public Works grant will fund new left turn lanes and signalize the intersection to help cope with increased traffic flow and improve congestion levels. There will also be some resurfacing work, a possible newly configured exit ramp on Route 62.
Under Leisure trails, there is a potential for a new trail to be put in place – the village currently features many miles of trails which local residents enjoy through walking and cycling. Also, there are plans to connect up trails that are closeby so that all subdivisions will eventually have access to the village center.
With a really booming level of development, a robust local economy and a great selection of housing available in an area offering high living standards it is no wonder that so many people are planning on relocating to New Albany and the surrounding area.
