Program in Gahanna Helps Brown Go Green

Gahanna, Ohio is working to improve its brown spaces

A new program in Gahanna is in place to help brownfield sites go green.  Think BIG (Brown is Green) was formed with a grant of $1 million from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The money is being used to educate and aid Gahanna’s brownfield site owners on how to return these properties back to useful, clean, green sites.  Think BIG offers loans at low interest rates to Gahanna brownfield land owners who promise to improve their land.  In addition to cleaning up any unsightly properties in Gahanna, Think BIG is hoping that their program may instigate some economic movement as well. For more information about Think BIG, email Matt Huffman at matt.huffman@gahanna.gov.
