Columbus is Paving the Way For Ohio
A recent article in the Columbus Dispatch touts Columbus as being Ohio’s leader in terms of economic development and job growth. The most recent Milken Report, a report on the best-performing cities in 2009, has Columbus ranked 108 out of 200 metropolitan areas, up from its ranking of 135 in 2008. In terms of job growth, Columbus is ranked 47th.
Perhaps one aspect that has kept Columbus growing at a slow and steady pace is that it does not rely heavily on manufacturing. The study points out the steady rise in high tech growth in Columbus, where it ranked 36 on the list.
Other Ohio cities that made the list were Cleveland and Cincinnati. Columbus is leading the pack of Ohio cities, improving its economy and adding new jobs as it climbs its way out of a recession along with the rest of the country.
