August Festivals Around Columbus, OH

Dublin will be hosting its annual three-day Irish Festival starting August 2. Get ready for amazing music and dance performances, learn about Irish tradition and culture, visit with dog breeds native to Ireland, browse through arts, crafts and kilts, and more.

The Tomato Festival is coming to Reynoldsburg on August 16. Enjoy two days of live music, tomato contests, tomato samplings, kids activities and exhibits.

Kid-Friendly Central Ohio Events

The Columbus Zoo will have a Teddy Bear Safari on August 10 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Children who bring their favorite teddy bears can visit with Polly Polar Bear and the Berenstain Bear Family. There will also be a bear care den, where children can have their stuffed animals examined for checkups.

The Lolli-Pops Summer Children’s Concert Series will have its final performance on August 12 at the Village Green Amphitheater in Powell. The Marvelous Toy will perform.

Central Ohio’s Arts Events in August

Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus will feature An Evening with Bonnie “Prince” Billy and Dawn McCarthy on August 2 at 8 p.m. Billy and Dawn are known for their original indie material and covers of Everly Brothers’ songs.

The Arts Council of Westerville will present Sip and Sketch on August 5 at the Meza Wine Shop at 6:30 p.m. The hour-long sketch class costs $15 and includes five different wine samples.

The Columbus Museum of Art will feature the exhibit George Bellows and the American Experience on August 23. Visitors can view 35 of Bellows’ paintings and lithographs.
