Central Ohio Calendar of Events – June 2016

There are a ton of things going on in and around Central Ohio this month. It’s the summertime, so embrace it with all of the outdoor activities that you can possibly handle. Here are some events going on near you this month.

The Memorial Tournament

When: Tuesday, May 30th – Sunday, June 5th (7AM-6PM)

Where: The Memorial Golf Course [5750 Memorial Drive, Dublin, OH 43017]

Admission: $35-$278

What: The Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide is a premier event on the PGA TOUR held annually at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus. The Tournament, founded and hosted by Jack Nicklaus, is conducted each year with three goals in mind: to honor those who have distinguished themselves in the game of golf; to showcase the world’s best golfers competing on one of the most challenging venues in the world for the enjoyment of spectators; and to benefit many greater Columbus charities in alliance with the Nicklaus Children’s Healthcare Foundation, Nationwide Children’s Hospital and numerous other local organizations.

Columbus Clippers Vs. Indianapolis

When: Monday, June 6th [7:05PM]

Where: Huntington Park [330 Huntington Park Lane, Columbus, OH 43215]

What: Come cheer on the Columbus Clippers, Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians and enjoy breathtaking views of Huntington Park, one of the best ballparks in America.

Columbus Arts Festival

When: Friday, June 10th – Sunday, June 12th [Friday, Saturday 11AM-10PM, Sunday 11AM-5PM]

Where: Downtown Riverfront

What: The Columbus Arts Festival began in 1962 outside the Statehouse. It has since become one of the best arts festivals in the nation, attracting hundreds of highly acclaimed artists from throughout the country. The annual outdoor festival is typically a three-day event held along the city’s beautiful riverfront. In addition to the art, a wide range of food and drink from local restaurants as well as live music and theater performances round out the festival for three days of fun in the sun!

Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival

When: Friday, June 17th – Saturday, June 18th (Friday 5-11PM, Saturday 11AM-11PM)

Where: Creekside District [117 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230]

Admission: $7

What: This music festival is the showcase for the best blues and jazz music in Ohio, if not the Midwest. 5 Stages, 90+ hours of live music, 50+ bands and more! Centered around Creekside District, the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival promises something for everyone. Enjoy the Family Fun Zone, amusement rides, bourbon and craft beer tastings, artisan shopping and great food!

Juneteenth Celebration

Buckeye Country Superfest

When: Friday, June 17th & Saturday, June 19th [5-11PM]

Where: Ohio Stadium [411 Woody Hayes Drive, Columbus, OH 43210]

What: The 2nd annual Buckeye Country Superfest will be held June 18-19 at the “Horseshoe” where tens of thousands of Festival-goers will enjoy two jam-packed days of music. Performers include: Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Thomas Rhett, Randy Houser, Aaron Lewis, Jerrod Niemann, A Thousand Horses and The Swon Brothers.

Best Bites: Barbecue

When: Thursday, June 23rd [5:30PM-10PM]

Where: The Boathouse at Confluence Park [679 W. Spring St., Columbus, OH 43215]

Admission: $35

What: Columbus Underground is hosting the first ever Best Bites: Barbecue on the evening of Thursday, June 23rd. We have invited Columbus restaurants, food trucks and catering companies that offer the best Barbecue in the city to join us under one roof for one night only. The event will take place at The Boat House at Confluence Park, offering some of the best views of the Columbus skyline. Approximately two dozen restaurants will be participating, providing bite-sized samples of their signature barbecue dishes. Local brews from Smokehouse Brewing Company and Common House Ales will be featured at the bar with music and entertainment as well. Participating restaurants include Land Yacht BBQ, Paddy Wagon, KDB Easton, Ray Ray’s Hog Pit,Oldskool, Sweet Carrot, Milestone 229, House of BBQ & Blues, Smokehouse Brewing Co., The Boat House Restaurant, Aloha Streatery, CBC Restaurant, Old Bill Bailey’s, Hoggy’s and more!

Com Fest

When: Friday, June 24th – Sunday, June 26th

Where: Goodale Park [120 West Goodale Street, Columbus, OH 43215]

Admission: Free

What: ComFest (officially The Community Festival) is a large, free, non-corporate, music and arts annual festival currently held each June at Goodale Park in the Victorian Village area of Columbus, Ohio. The festival bills itself as “The Party with a Purpose”.[1] To accomplish this goal, the festival relies on community members to work together in the planning and operation of the festival serving on committees and work teams including clean-up and recycling, safety and first aid, entertainment, street fair, and the “World Peace Rocks Forever Committee”.

Columbus Crew Vs. New York Red Bulls

When: Saturday, June 25th [7:30PM]

Where: MAPFRE Stadium [One Black and Gold Blvd., Columbus, OH 43211]

Admission: $24-$57

What: Join the raucous crowd to cheer on the Crew SC and see why Columbus has become internationally recognized as a soccer haven in the United States.
