Central Ohio Calendar of Events – June 2017

There are a ton of things going on in and around Central Ohio this month. It’s the summertime, so embrace it with all of the outdoor activities that you can possibly handle. Here are some events going on near you…

The Memorial Tournament

When: Monday, May 29th – Sunday, June 4th [7AM-6PM]

Where: Muirfield Village Golf Club [5750 Memorial Drive, Dublin, OH 43017]

What: The Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide is a premier event on the PGA TOUR held annually at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus. The Tournament, founded and hosted by Jack Nicklaus, is conducted each year with three goals in mind: to honor those who have distinguished themselves in the game of golf; to showcase the world’s best golfers competing on one of the most challenging venues in the world for the enjoyment of spectators; and to benefit many greater Columbus charities in alliance with the Nicklaus Children’s Healthcare Foundation, Nationwide Children’s Hospital and numerous other local organizations.

Buckeye Country Superfest

When: Saturday, June 10th – Sunday, June 11th [5PM-11PM]

Where: Ohio Stadium [411 Woody Hayes Drive, Columbus, OH 43210]

What: For two days and nights, Ohio Stadium will once again become the epicenter of country music. Drawing country loving fans from thousands of miles away, Buckeye Country Superfest is set to rock the home of the Buckeyes June 10-11. Buckeye Country Superfest 2017 will be a massive all day and night country celebration featuring a stellar lineup of artists, including Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert and Zach Brown Band, a free Fan Fest party and many great memories to last a life-time!

Columbus Arts Festival

When: Friday, June 9th – Sunday, June 11th [Friday/Saturday 11AM-1030PM, Sunday 11AM-5PM]

Where: Downtown Columbus/Scioto Mile

What: The Columbus Arts Festival began in 1962 outside the Statehouse. It has since become one of the best arts festivals in the nation, attracting hundreds of highly acclaimed artists from throughout the country. The annual outdoor festival is typically a three-day event held along the city’s beautiful riverfront. In addition to the art, a wide range of food and drink from local restaurants as well as live music and theater performances round out the festival for three days of fun in the sun!

Summer Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show

When: Sunday, June 11th [10AM-4PM]

Where: Makoy Event Center [5462 Center St, Hilliard, Ohio 43026]

Admission: $3

What: Join us at our NEW show location! We’ve moved to Hilliard! Our only summer show of the year, don’t miss it! This large show will feature artists and crafters selling their original handmade items at this beautiful venue! Admission is $3 to the public, children under 12 are free! This event will also have a full concessions stand on site provided by the venue. A portion of proceeds will benefit local non-profit, Pets Without Parents.

Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival

When: Friday, June 16th – Sunday, June 18th

Where: Creekside District [117 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230]

Admission: $7-$10

What: Recognized as a showcase for the best blues and jazz music in Ohio, Gahanna’s annual Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival (CBJF) is a premier family event offering 5 stages and 90+ hours of GREAT lives blues and jazz music. The 3-day cultural event (held June 16-18) also offers mouth-watering cuisine, regional artisans, amusement rides, family activities, and more. Each June, more than 35,000 people from across Ohio and the U.S. travel to Gahanna to experience a weekend of first class music, food, community, and fun. Located along the picturesque banks of Creekside Park and in the heart of Gahanna’s vibrant Creekside District, the CBJF has the feel of a small-town festival yet offers attendees unrivaled amenities.

Pride Festival

When: Friday, June 16th – Sunday, June 18th

Where: Bicentennial Park [233 Civic Center Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43215]

Admission: $5 Donation

What: The annual Columbus Pride Festival will take place June 16-18 on the Scioto Mile. The festival attracts more than 500,000 attendees making it one of the largest pride festivals in the Midwest. The event includes a parade, more than 180 vendors, three music stages, areas for teens, families and trailblazers (50+).

Tour De Grandview Cycling Classic

When: Friday, June 16th [6PM-11PM]

Where: Grandview Avenue [Grandview Heights, Ohio 43212]

What: The Tour de Grandview Cycling Classic attracts an international field of several hundred professional cyclists to central Ohio each year, as well as cycling enthusiasts and spectators from throughout the Midwest. The Tour features world-class bicycle racing through the streets of suburban Grandview, as well as a number of events and activities for spectators and cyclists alike. The races feature both men and women cyclists in multiple professional categories as well as Juniors. The course is designed to delight spectators with fast-paced action, sharp turns, and down-to-the-wire excitement as the pros close in on the finish line.

Grandview Digfest

When: Saturday, June 17th [7:30PM-12AM]

Where: First Avenue Park/Grandview Yard [1011 Ryder Avenue, Grandview Heights, Ohio 43026]

Admission: Free

What: Grandview Digfest began in 2011 as a festival to celebrate local craft brewers, craft distilleries, Ohio wines and liqueurs. This year we’ll be featuring even more local drinks and food.  Grandview Digfest is Saturday, June 17th from 4-10:30 p.m. at First Avenue park in Grandview Yard.
