Central Ohio Calendar of Events – September 2018

Just because summer is coming to an end doesn’t mean there aren’t tons of great events here in Central Ohio. Be sure to check out the local happenings so you can make this September one to remember. Here are some events going on in your area this month…

 

Columbus Greek Festival

When: Saturday, September 1st – Monday, September 3rd

Where: Goodale Blvd at High Street, Columbus, OH 43215

Admission: $5 Adults, $4 Seniors, Free Kids Under 12

What: Experience the culture and ancestry of Greece and the Orthodox Christian faith through many foods and activities, held Labor Day weekend each year. The cathedral tours will inspire you, the Orthodox Christian Bookstore will educate you, the food and drink will entice you, and the hospitality will overwhelm you. Stop by the shops, enjoy the music and dancing, visit the exhibits and enjoy the wonderful Greek pastries.

Ohio State vs. Oregon State

What: Dust off your buckeyes, gear up your Scarlet & Grey pride and cheer on your favorite football team!

Columbus Oktoberfest

When: Friday, September 7th – Sunday, September 9th

Where: Ohio Expo Center & Fairgrounds [717 E 17th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43211]

Admission: Free!

What: Held on the grounds of the Ohio Expo Center, the 53rd Annual Columbus Oktoberfest features 100,000 square feet of covered open-air pavilions perfect for two stages, dance floors, and beer hall-style dining! Bring the kids to the Kinderrplatz and enjoy a few biers with the adults while you soak in the German music, dancing, snacks and shops!

Fall Out Boy

What: Fall Out Boy is bringing their M A N I A Tour with Machine Gun Kelly to Nationwide Arena on September 9, 2018. Fall Out Boy rose to the forefront of emo pop in the mid-2000s, selling more than four million albums thanks to the band’s tabloid-grabbing bassist, able-voiced frontman, and handful of Top 40 hits. As Fall Out Boy, the quartet uses the unbridled intensity of hardcore as a foundation for melody-drenched pop-punk, with a heavy debt to the emo scene.

New Albany Walking Classic

When: Sunday, September 9th [8AM]

Where: Market Square [New Albany, Ohio 43054]

What: The 14th annual New Albany Walking Classic featuring a 10k USA Track & Field certified course (6.2 miles) will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 8:00 am.  The start and finish will take place on Market Street and Market Square in downtown New Albany, Ohio.

Kevin Hart: The Irresponsible Tour

What: Kevin Hart announced he is expanding his widely successful and massively hysterical ‘The Kevin Hart Irresponsible Tour,’ adding over 100 new dates across the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia including Friday, September 14, 2018 at Nationwide Arena.

Columbus Caribbean Festival

When: Friday, September 14th – Sunday, September 16th [730PM-11PM]

Where: Scioto Mile [233 S Civic Center Drive, Columbus, OH 43215]

What: Celebrate the heritage and culture of the Caribbean islands with the 2nd Annual Columbus Caribbean Festival. Enjoy three days of live music, dancers, food and fun for the entire family. Admission is Free!

Night Market

When: September 21st [6PM-9PM]

Where: North Market [59 Spruce Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215]

What: The Night Market will take place at North Market & is inspired by traditional outdoor markets popular throughout Europe and Asia, the best of which offer a carnival-like atmosphere with an array of foods, goods to browse, bars and music to keep everyone entertained.

Fallapalooza

When: Saturday, September 23rd & Sunday, September 24th

Where: Hoover Gardens & Gift Center [182 N Sunbury Road, Westerville, OH 43081]

What: We welcome fall harvest with this weekend long celebration the whole family can enjoy! Join us for sales, our famous haunted maze, bounce houses, pumpkin painting, cotton candy and more! Maroon 5: Red Pill Blues Tour

When: Tuesday, September 25th [730PM]

Where: Nationwide Arena [200 W Nationwide Blvd, Columbus, Ohio 43215]

What: Three-time GRAMMY Award-winning multiplatinum band Maroon 5 have announced their upcoming 2018 world tour produced by Live Nation, happening in conjunction with the release of their highly anticipated new studio album, Red Pill Blues. The first leg of the band’s Red Pill Blues world tour kicks off out west in May and includes a September 25 play at Nationwide Arena.
