Village of Gahanna Showcases Green Home Building courtesy of OS homes

June 18th, 2008 Kinetic Knowledge Posted in Uncategorized No Comments »

Image Courtesy of PublicDomainPictures.netWith the recent publicity about energy efficiency and a growing awareness of our environmental impact many homebuilders are looking for ways in which to incorporate energy efficiency into the homebuilding process to save homeowners money as well as saving the planet.

Dave Smith of OS Homes, which he founded in 2005 is going to parade its green building techniques in the Building Industry Association Parade of Homes from Saturday through to the end of this month in Gahanna.

Dave Smith admits that it is not just using energy efficient heating and cooling systems and appliances but that it is the design of the home to maximize natural heat/cooling & light which also make a big difference. Trading cathedral ceilings for 9 foot ceiling as well as using thicker concrete walls to maximize insulation. Similarly when chosing a method of water heating trading the water tank for the new tankless models which heat water on demand are ways of saving some extra dollars as well as helping towards cutting down the homes carbon footprint.

Courtesy of Wikipedia - Released into the public domain. With the Columbus Metro area experiencing a strong economy due to unprecedented growth it is no wonder that shopping areas are required! New Albany itself has many boutique stores however the Easton Town Center Shopping Center is not far, just 2 exits south off of I-270

The Easton Town Center Shopping Center is a one million square feet plus shopping complex - one of the largest Columbus has ever seen! -  plus housing and office complexes and more! The development is a well designed and architecturally pleasing venue with two anchor stores - Norstrom & Macy’s. It is spread across a 90 acre retail site in a 1300 acre overall development. Phase one opened in 1999 and the complex is continually being developed and added to and with the current expansion will hopefully be the opening of the upscale Tiffany & Co.

Ohio Real Estate: National Association of Realtors Comments on the Stabilizing Real Estate and Mortgage Markets

May 15th, 2008 Kinetic Knowledge Posted in Uncategorized No Comments »

Columbus SkylineNew regulations from Congress are aimed at stabilizing the housing and mortgage markets for future buyers. With property being available at the moment and pricing being very much in the favor of the buyer lawmakers want to ensure that they are protected.

In addition to the Foreclosure Prevention Act politicians are creating a "Housing Package" to aid buyers and in the respect of mortgage, aid borrowers to make it easier for them to get qualified by extending the availability and guidelines of government backed programs - including FHA.

These moves are some of the most radical shake ups to the industry in years and have been widely supported by the National Association of Realtors

When going looking for property it is important to know how much you can afford and in that case a prequalification for a mortgage is a must! On our website you will see more information on getting pre-qualified!
