For those looking to put their homes on the market in the Central Ohio area the picture is looking a little brighter these days. The Clear Capital Home Data Index recently placed Columbus among the top 10 markets expected to see home prices rise in the coming year. While this is terrific news for sellers it does not mean it is time to test the market.
Here are a few tips to come out on top in this competitive market.
- Price reasonably (if sellers price their house correctly, buyer advantage drops).
- Have a professional stage your house (this greatly improves the appeal of the house).
- Compromise on items other than price (sellers have the advantage when they drive negotiations other than price).
- Make sure the listing is ready for the market.
“Shelf life has a direct correlation to what sellers will ultimately get, there’s a sense of excitement about a new listing. And the longer it languishes, the harder it is to sell and the less it will get,” as stated by The Raines Group’s own Sandy Raines in the Columbus Dispatch. To see the article, click here.
